My calling is to provide service to others. Prior to starting law school, I was a social worker and a nursing assistant. Being an attorney has allowed me to continue to be of service to others, while retaining a passion for my work.
One of my greatest strengths as a lawyer is how well I relate to people. I place a high value on my relationships with others. As a result I have been rewarded with many loyal clients and friends. I am a strong advocate for my clients, and respected as a negotiator by opposing counsel. I take pride in my keen sense of ethics and high integrity.
I have engaged in the general practice of law in the Twin Cities since 1986. From 1986 to 1996, I practiced law in two small law firms. As a general practitioner, I developed an ability to get up to speed on many areas of law very quickly.
I started Morris Law Firm in 1996. In recent years, I have focused my practice into three primary practice areas:
- • Estate planning and estate administration
- • Serving as general counsel to business entities
- • Family Law
I have significant experience counseling, negotiating and advocating for my clients. I assist clients to establish and operate Minnesota business entities, including corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, limited partnerships and limited liability partnerships.
I draft and review all types of documents and contracts during my twenty-four years of private practice. Contracts I have routinely drafted over the years include:
- • Trust Agreements
- • Wills
- • Financial Powers of Attorney
• Buy-sell Agreements
- • Employment Agreements
- • Independent Contractor Agreements
- • Settlement Agreements
- • Asset Purchase and Sale Agreements
- • Lease Agreements
- • Loan and Financing Agreements
- • Commercial Real Estate Agreements
- • Residential Real Estate Agreements
- • Pre-nuptial Agreements
- • Marital Dissolution Agreements
I would appreciate the opportunity to take care of your legal needs and I encourage you to contact me.
